 Remember 1 dead in crash involving New Jersey Transit bus, car in Cherry Hill, Friday, September 23, 2022 


 CHERRY HILL, New Jersey (WPVI) -- One person was killed Friday evening when a car hit the back of a New Jersey Transit bus in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, authorities said.

The crash happened just before 6 p.m.

It is not yet clear what cause the crash, but westbound lanes of Route 70 were closed at Kings Highway while crews investigated.

One person in the car was killed, authorities said.

There were 14 people on the bus at the time of the crash. Authorities said the bus was heading to Center City Philadelphia from Berlin, New Jersey.

The male pedestrian, whom NJ Transit would not identify, was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus was traveling on the 409 route from Trenton to Philadelphia at 10:30 p.m. when it hit the pedestrian.  The New Jersey State Police Fatal Accident Investigation Unit assisted with the investigation.
