 Remember NJ Transit Murder Victim Praveen Desini Who Was Killed By Deadly Their Train Engineer


Hyderabad: A software employee hailing from Hanamkonda town was fatally run over by a train near a railway station near Edison in New Jersey on December 22, according to information reaching here. The man was identified by his friends as Praveen Desini, living in Jersey City of New Jersey in the United States.

While it is not clear as to how he was struck down by the train, the NJ Transit director told local media in New Jersey that at 7. 20 am (December 22), “The Northeast Corridor train 3920 which departed Trenton at 6:47 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 7:58 am, struck and killed a pedestrian just east of the Edison station”. The US authorities, however, have not released the name of the person struck down by train. Fellow Indians in New York told Telangana Today that Praveen Desini was on his way to his office in New York from Edison. His body was kept at the Middlesex Regional Medical Examiner in New Jersey.

Described as an easy going and jovial personality, Praveen was the youngest of the three siblings.

Warangal Urban: The parents, relatives and friends of Praveen Desini, son of Rajamouli, a retired engineer, and Pushpaleela, a homemaker, of Bhavani Nagar in Hanamkonda, were shocked over the untimely death of Praveen in a train accident in New Jersey in the US.

They came to know about the incident when Praveen’s brother-in-law (wife Navatha’s brother), who also lives in New Jersey, informed them about the accident. “We came to know that Praveen was run over by a train near a railway station near Edison in New Jersey on December 22,” Gandi Ranjith told ‘Telangana Today’.

“Praveen, who completed his B.Sc degree from Masterji College in Hanamkonda, secured a seat in MBA at Osmania University campus college. He worked in Australia for five years before returning to India to get married and left for the US after the marriage. His in-laws are from Balasamudram in Hanamkonda,” Ranjith added.

Praveen’s relatives met Government Chief Whip and Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and urged him to take steps to bring the body from the US. Responding to this, Bhaskar called IT and MAUD Minister K T Rama Rao over the phone and explained the situation. “Rama Rao said he would talk to the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and see that the body is brought to India at the earliest,” a relative said.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy was also requested by the relatives to help in bringing back the body. Relatives, friends and locals visited Rajamouli and consoled the parents. A pall of gloom descended on the colony in Hanamkonda.

Remembering  Adeline Derephonse, age 53, of Irvington, NJ who was killed by Coach USA bus driver  The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a bus in South Orange on May 21 has been identified as Adeline Derephonse, age 53, of Irvington, NJ. The incident is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the South Orange Police Department. No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is active. Derephonse was stuck while in the intersection of South Orange Avenue and Valley Street in South Orange Village Center and pronounced dead on the scene.
