Remembering Judith Westerman, 62, who was killed by an NJ Transit train engineer
Judith Westerman, 62, was hit by a Bergen County line train in Glen Rock, according to a transit spokesman. The train was headed from Hoboken to Suffern, New York when it struck the Glen Rock resident around 10:30 a.m. at the Harristown Road crossing.
Ms. Silver was very active in the community through the Glen Rock Library. She was formally President of the Library Board and remained active afterward. She will be greatly missed. She left behind 2 children.
Mayor Kristine Morieko commented, “She was a wonderful, loving, giving soul. Most strikingly – she never took credit for all the good she would do. ”
Residents of Glen Rock also commented, “She was a wonderful woman with a good sense of humor”.
Felix Svider commented, “Very sad to hear this tragic event. Judy used to decorate the convertible I would drive the library board in the 4th of July parade. Prayers to her family”
The Incident is still under investigation by NJ Transit.
