Remembering 21-Years-Old NJ Transit Train Victim Charles K. Osei-Fosu, Who Was Struck By A Train Engineer
The man struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train on Sunday night in Newark has been identified as a 21-year-old from Union County.
Charles K. Osei-Fosu, of Union, was hit around 8:10 p.m. by an eastbound Raritan Valley line train near the bridge on Peddie Street, a New Jersey Transit spokesman said Thursday.
Osei-Fosu was a 2017 graduate of Union High School where he ran track, according to a website that covers the sport.
Service was delayed for several hours on the line while New Jersey Transit police investigated.
The train was en route to Newark Penn Station from Raritan.
