JUSTICE fOR NJ TRANSIT AND COACH USA MURDER VICTIMS: REMEMBER KEITH
Another life is taken by an NJ Transit deadly bus driver or Coach USA bus driver on Christmas Day 2019.
The driver of a New Jersey Transit bus that fatally struck a pedestrian on Christmas Day says that he did not realize that he hit anyone.
Wilford Anderson Jr. told police that Toms River resident Keith Elliott waved down the bus to try to get on. But Anderson says that he gestured that he wasn't allowed to let Elliott on at the time. That's when authorities say Elliott was struck and killed.
There were passengers on the bus at the time of the incident who also apparently told police that they did not realize anyone was hit.
EILLOTElliott's family tells News 12 New Jersey that they do not believe the driver's story.
"They said they didn't see him, but he saw him. He knows what he did. It's sickening," says Devin Elliott, the victim's son.
Keith Elliott was headed to his sister's home in Lacey on Christmas Day to celebrate with family when he was killed.
"I'm gonna miss him a lot. I'm getting married in April. He won't be there, it sucks," says sister Cristi Elliott.
The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office has surveillance video confirming Elliott was struck by Anderson's bus. No charges have been filed against Anderson at this time.
New Jersey Transit tells News 12 that Anderson was removed from service, but would not comment on his employment status. http://newjersey.news12.com/story/34867649/nj-transit-driver-says-he-didnt-know-he-fatally-hit-pedestrian-keith-elliott-in-toms-river
