A 28-year-old Montclair woman was identified as the person struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Tuesday morning, officials said.
Joan Juengling was identified by NJ Transit as the woman who was struck, NJ Transit spokeswoman Lisa Torbic said. The details surrounding Juengling's death were not available.
The train was on its way to Penn Station New York from Montclair State University when it struck Juengling at 4:55 a.m., just west of the Watchung Avenue Station, said NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith. The train had left Montclair State University at 4:45 a.m. with 10 passengers on board.
