Remembering 21-Years-Old N J Transit Train Victim Charles K. Osei-Fosu, Who Was Struck By A Train Engineer The man  struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train  on Sunday night in Newark has been identified as a 21-year-old from Union County. Charles K. Osei-Fosu, of Union, was hit around 8:10 p.m. by an eastbound Raritan Valley line train near the bridge on Peddie Street, a New Jersey Transit spokesman said Thursday. Osei-Fosu  was a 2017 graduate of Union High School where he ran track, according to a website that covers the sport. Service was delayed for several hours on the line while New Jersey Transit police investigated. The train was en route to Newark Penn Station from Raritan.  Remembering John Hagans, 50, who was struck during a hit-and-run  and moments later a NJ Transit driver bus ran over him John Hagans, 50, was allegedly struck by a pick up truck on Avenue C near 25th Street at about 10:20 p.m on September 11, 2020. Hagans was trying to cross Avenue C, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The driver of a dark-colored vehicle fled the scene and moments later a NJ Transit bus ran Hagans over while he was already on the ground. That driver notified police, Suarez said.
