GLEN ROCK, NJ — Service on the Main-Bergen County line has resumed on Thursday after a pedestrian was struck by a train. The current medical condition of that man is unknown, New Jersey Transit Police said. NJ Transit officials updated residents at 10 a.m. that line service was running on time, or close to it, in both directions.

Glen Rock police were called to the scene just after 8 a.m. on Thursday to assist NJ Transit Police in responding to the pedestrian, who was provided medical assistance by the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.

After receiving on-scene treatment, the person was transported from the Main Line Station to St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson.

NJ Transit Train #1208, which was bound for Hoboken, remained stopped on the scene during the investigation, and Main Line rail service was temporarily suspended in both directions. It has since resumed. There were no reported injuries to the 15 commuters or crew on board of the train.

An NJ Transit Police investigation is still ongoing, Ackermann said.
