Remember Pedestrian struck and killed on Route 9 in central N.J. by NJ Transit bus
A pedestrian was stuck and killed by a sport-utility vehicle on Route 9 in Old Bridge on Tuesday night, authorities said.
The man was hit in the northbound middle lane around 10:30 p.m. near the NJ Transit bus park-and-ride and a McDonald’s restaurant, Old Bridge police said Wednesday.
The victim wasn’t carrying identification but appeared to be about 40 to 50 years of age, police said.
“All attempts are being made to identify him,” a police spokesman said.
The woman driving the vehicle stopped and cooperated with police. She is not expected to be charged.
Route 9 north was closed between Westminster Boulevard and Downing Street for more than three hours as police investigated the incident.
