Man Struck By Train In Montclair Survives With Serious Injuries


The man was seriously injured but survived after he was hit by the train near the Upper Montclair station at Bellevue Avenue around 4:35 p.m., NJ Transit spokesman Paul Milo said.

Montclair-Boonton Line service was temporarily suspended but resumed with 45-minute delays shortly after.

None of the approximately 15 customers and crew members on board the train were injured, Milo said. 

NJ Transit police are investigating.

Remember The Person Who Was Struck By Train In Harrison; 2nd Person Killed By Train In NJ Wednesday An Amtrak train struck a person who had entered the tracks in Harrison just east of Penn Station Newark Wednesday night, NJ Transit said. Transit later said the person died. The person was hit around 5:07 p.m. The incident disrupted service between New York Penn and Newark Penn stations, NJ Transit and Amtrak said. An NJ Transit train fatally struck a man Monday morning near Madison.   (Drew Angerer/Getty Images) MADISON, NJ — A New Jersey Transit train fatally struck a man Monday morning near Madison. No other injuries were reported, but the Morris and Essex Line is subject to 45-minute delays between Morristown and Summit, an NJ Transit spokesperson told Patch at about noon Monday. But NJ Transit tweeted that, as of 12:30 p.m., the line was operating on or close to schedule in both directions. The incident occurred at about 8:45 a.m. Monday around the NJ Route 124 bridge. The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at Morristown Medical Center. NJ Transit did not identify them.
